Intern Logbook Program
The intern logbook program has been designed to support the intern estate agent with the mandatory one-year program, to be completed by all intern estate agents, as from 2 January 2013, as set by the Estate Agency Affairs Board. The program has been specifically designed to facilitate and monitor the induction of intern estate agents into the estate agency profession and will apply to all new entrants, or intern estate agents, regardless of the future status to which such persons aspire and/or of their current academic, professional or other qualifications. The program has, furthermore, been designed to ensure that intern estate agents not only acquire meaningful practical estate agency experience during the twelve-month internship period but that they are also exposed to an applied and relevant practical learning experience that will enhance, and add value and understanding, to their theoretical estate agency studies. The underlying objective of the program is to ensure that intern estate agents are provided with the required structured learning environment that will assist them to acquire the necessary practical workplace experience that they need if they are competently to perform the functions of a professional estate agents and that, just as importantly, they are not, during the course of the internship period, relegated to the peripheries of estate agency practice. The maintenance of a mandatory workplace learning program logbook and workplace portfolio of evidence constitutes an integral component of the entire program. Meraki Property Solutions has compiled a set of templates and resources to assist both the intern and principal with the compilation of this mandatory Intern Logbook and portfolio of evidence. We also offer accountability and support through the entire internship.
Intern Logbook Program

PDE4 AND PDE5 EXAM PREPARATION
The PDE is written by registered estate agents who are certificated against or exempted from completing the prescribed qualifications. PDE 4 (this is an examination that must be written by eligible intern and non-principal estate agents). It is only meant for those who have been certificated against or exempted from completing the Further Education and Training Certificate: Real Estate (NQF 4). Interns must have also completed the compulsory 12 month internship period and submitted a logbook which has been approved by the EAAB in order for them to be able to enroll for the examination via the MyEAAB portal. PDE 5 (this is an examination that must be written by eligible Principal estate agents). It is also meant only for those who have been certificated against or exempted from completing the National Certificate: Real Estate (NQF 5). Meraki Property Solutions assists with exam preparation for this online exam. The next exam date is 20 May 2021. Exam registrations open 01 April 2021.
